Our Gallery

A family-run gallery, a few steps off the noise of Thamel.

Nepal Art Gallery sits on Chaksibari Marg, directly in front of Global IME Bank. Inside, every piece on our walls is genuine hand-painted work — thangkas on cotton canvas, Himalayan landscapes in oil and watercolour, and contemporary paintings by Kathmandu artists we know personally.

We are artists and a family before we are shopkeepers. When you walk in, someone will happily sit with you and explain what a mandala means, why the pigments are ground from stone, or how many months a single thangka took to finish. Ask as many questions as you like — that conversation is the part we enjoy most.

Our prices are fair and clearly explained, based on the size, detail and time behind each painting. There is no pressure to buy, and nothing here is mass-produced print work sold as original art.
